That should be in a museum. It would be shame for someone to put it on the road after this long.

That said, a 07-D Avenger would be an interesting sight!

Seeing that it was never registered would that mean it's liable to VRT and full tax etc?

It is a cracker, my neighbour had one years ago and a second one for parts which he gave me the instrument cluster from

Its next to impossible to find a car like this, especially not registered or driven. I remember a few years ago 2 New cars for sale in this country, a Morris Minor from I970 and a Ford Cortina Mk2. Both unregistered and extremely low mileage like I0 miles on the clock. I have read in one of the classic car magazines that there are some warehouses in the greenline zone of cyprus that have a lot of New I974 unregistered cars from British Leyland to Rootes.

I'm sure I recall seeing this car for sale a couple of years ago. It's the kind of car I could never buy; would feel guilty driving it but would soon become frustrated looking at it taking space in a garage somewhere.

So, unless I get rich quick and can afford to buy a building to use as a museum...

Yeah, a museum is the only place for it.
Seeing that it was never registered would that mean it's liable to VRT and full tax etc
If that were the case it'd also have to pass the NCT advanced emissions test! Which it would have no hope of passing

I believe in the UK there is some sort of exemption from this sort of thing, i.e. if it could be proven that it was made in 1970 then it would be treated as a 1970 car for tax and MOT purposes.

Over here the first registration counts, so it would be costly. Could a car like be simply driven away or would a complete overhaul be needed. I would imagine things would seize up and dry out being left for so long, rubbers and such like.

Actually if you can prove the car is over 30 year old, via historical records etc, then the VRT would be the standard classic amount. I would make sure I had discussed it thouroughly with them before admitting the car was in the Country though ! :D

Yeah lots of recommisioning work there. All rubbers, where will they get them, all fuids, new tyres, in fact a lot of stuff that would affect its value if not sone exactly to factory spec, clips and pipes and the like. Again once it were used there is no telling what could go wrong, it's be no harm to go through the electrical connections also !

Sure brings back memories though !

    STG£ 7,600 !!

Winning bidder also bought a decent enough Morris Marina recently ! Must have a passion for sh1te UK cars !!
