I found with a 12g Beretta that a Turkey choke and #7 shot was quite effective.

Try going out a dawn, i find this the best time of day to use the shotgun on rabbits. They just cannot resist the urge to come out again quickly. I normally fit the 3/4 choke in the semi and use no 6 shot. also i alway try to just hit the head. the next couple of week will see the end of this type of tactic on my part as i find the rabbits start to get very wary and i will have to switch solely to the mighty .22

Not to mention those lazy sundays tryin for headshots out to 400meters or so with the swift.:D

I've not gone shooting them in daylight yet. Well apart from the odd few with the .223 at dusk.

Lamping with the shotgun is ok, except they'll twig quickly to the light being dangerous cos of the bang of the shottie. If you're using a lamp use the least powerful that you need, gives them less to go on. You can do it this way if you choose very windy nights it'll take them longer to work it out, especially if you've got hilly ground where you can work one small valley then move to another etc.

The mighty .22lr indeed. If you're looking for dramatic effect in little time then this is where you want to be. Lamp them with subsonics and a moderator and they stand side by side getting shot and wondering what's up. You could also snipe them early in the morning or at dusk also with no lamp.

This is definitely the best method
