Hi, just wondered has anyone attended 'Smiles' clinic to have their teeth whitened and if so, how did they get on?

It is €600 for this procedure, was it worth it?

If you want white teeth, there's no need to spnd €600 on it!

Just buy a pack of these:

    http://www.cheapotc.com/documents/crest.html

They're whitening strips that I used over in America. You put one strip on your upper teeth and one on your bottom teeth for 30 minutes, twice a day for 1 - 2 weeks, depending on what set you get.

I did that in August of last year. People STILL compliment me on how white my teeth are.

I had previously tried all sorts of stuff in Ireland, mouthwashes, special toothpastes, etc. etc. Nothing ever worked until I used these and the difference was amazing - I recommend it to everyone I can, as it seems to be the only way of having white teeth without spending hundreds of euro on it.

If you're a smoker/big coffee drinker, I'd recommend getting two packs as your teeth will probably not be totally white by the end of the first course.

Theres already a huge thread abt Tooth whitening

but yeah, the white strips are amazing. I whitened my top teeth and the difference is amazing, and im always gettin compliments abt them, and thats makes ye smile even more :)

I just got a new box I ordered, as I didnt use the last ones often enough

so if you stick to usin at least 2 a day, you'll be grand

Gel whitening is good because it whitens all your teeth, esp the back ones and your bottom teeth, but its annoying tryin to keep the mouthpiece in place, without drooling etc

Also, a good t/paste to use with them is BlanX

Its the best whitening paste ever, in the way that it actually works!

U can get it in boots for €10

Thanks again. It is good to get opinions about these things. I did think 600 smackers was expensive.

Is that the best place to get them from? How long for delivery? Why don't they sell them in Europe?

I have had the whitening done twice. First in 2001 in the North. Cost me about 400stg at the time and again in Dublin in 2004 for 600euro. It doesn't last pi$$ing time truthfully. I should really give up the smokes and mugs of builders tea.

I'd love to hear any impressions of the €600 treatment if anyone has had it..

I have used at-home gel kits with a tray moulded by my dentist, and the results were very good. Bright teeth, lots of compliments etc. But - and I don't know if this is the case with those strips - I find the shade is uneven across the tooth, and between teeth. Front four teeth being whiter than the rest, for example, and the tooth being whiter away from the gumline than closer to the gumline. So I was thinking of having this treatment done if it could, once and for all, even out the shade of my teeth. My concerns are if they can do that, and also control the level of whitening so that my teeth are no whiter than the whites of my eyes (that's apparently the guide you should use). My teeth are already quite light in colour, so I am hoping they can bring them up to a specific shade, and not go overboard into 'luminous white' territory, if you know what I mean.

(I know I'm being picky, but I'm having restoration work done soon, and I'd like to have the shade just right before my restorations are colour matched against my other teeth and I'm 'stuck' with that shade..).

edit - I see The Laser Centre also offers this, and a couple of other places aswell..if anyone has experiences from there too, it'd be great to hear about it.

    Hey guys

I went onto that site and just wondered if you can tell me if the strips do any damage to your teeth?

I wouldn't be taken in by the Blanx hype, I used two tubes of it and saw no difference in the shade of my teeth.
