I'm attempting to apply for planning permission for vehicular to my house. I phoned the planning office and they forwarded on the necessary applications forms. However, within these forms there is a request for drawings of the proposed development!!!! I only want to drop the curb outside my house. Can anyone give some guidance as to the best way to go about this?

More like 250-300 euro to dip kerb...And that depends on your local council.

If somebody hurts themself you are liable. According to planining laws details plans of the area involved has to be shown. ISO map required like with any other planing.
Do it yourseld and you can be sued by the local authority for vandalism and open youself for liability.

    There are two issues.

    1. The kerb on the public footpath. This is owned by the council and it is for them only to make alterations. You pay them a few hundred euros to alter it. They may have a fixed fee, may do it on a cost reimbursement basis or may slot it into a footpath replacement programme for little cost.

    2. Your driveway. Presumably you are removing some fencing / walling and putting in paving. This is the planning permission bit. You submit the application form, drawing sof what you are proposing and a small fee. Just like if you were building an extension / new house / nuclear power plant.

I can't imagine anyone objecting, so its mostly a formality. The council will insist on certain minimum standards - that the gate not open out, that it be self draining and that there is a hard surface at the boundary edge (no gravel right up to the boundary).

There is a place in Lucan that this has happened.

As far as I know a planning application wasn't submitted and works were done.

Neighbors kicked up a **** storm and a planning application was submitted, refused (the application was invalid due to illegal planning present)

That was about 8 months ago and its still on going.

Check with your neighbors before assuming its gonna be ok.
