    Hey Guys,

Im looking to put two hard drives together in NAS (Network Storage) and im finding it hard to locate.
I need it to be SATA and take 2xHD's, Have Wireless, and then even a 100mbit Ethernet port (1000mbit would be great).

Just wondering if any of ye know of one, or another solution.....

Due to the way my setup is, i def need the wireless facility.

    Thanks

What you are looking for is a rare beast indeed. I have looked at about 15 sites for you, but the closest thing i can find is this:

    http://www.yoyotech.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=14_109&products_id=1786&osCsid=1bc33de253e3c7667d1080d9191053a8

ITs a TB NAS drive, with 4 x 250gb drives. built in wireless. And 10/100/1000mbit connectivity.

Ill keep looking, but thats all i can find at the moment.

Would it not be cheaper to get an old cheap/free pc.. get a pci sata/wireless card. It'll take up more space n use more power but it'd be a hell of allot cheaper...

Dont take my word for it, cause im not sure at all! but cant you connect a regular NAS to a wireless router?

If you can it would work out fairly cheap

the NAS to your spec: NETGEAR Storage Central Turbo, Gigabit Ethernet, for 2x 3.5" SATA HDD

    A cheap router: D-Link DI-524 router & 4 port switch, Wireless 802.11g 11/54Mbps

its €260 alltogether(no hard drives). But get advice from someone else before even considering this option cause half the time i dont know what im talking about!!If it was to work you could plug into the router to get your wired connection, although the above router doesnt support gigbit ethernet

Yea it would and ive thought about this route, but the power/noise is an issue, plus it would be nice to have it as a portable storage device (i go between Dublin and Kildare).

Thats a good option if it will work, im going to have a look into that further actually and see what i find (might need wireless access point or simular)......

Thanks for the reply's guys, help much appreciated!!

After a little more checking its a Wireless Bridge that i need.

Think ill pick up a regular NAS & a 400-500gb HD, and work around the wireless issue until i really need it. Means i can add another 400-500gb HD & get a Wireless Bridge.

    Cheers guys!!

I'm thinking of doing something similar. Looking to but a NAS encloseure + HD or all in one and plug it into my Wireless G router.
One thing i'm worried about is how potentially painfully slow in will probably be. Anyone have this kind of set up already?

Here are the ywo contenders i'm looking at atm
