no- not a house stairs :D

Have just coverted the attic of the garage - flat to apex - and want to make a sturdy stairs for it. do not want a fold up one.
It will be pivoted by two large bolts so it can be stored flush with the joists.

so - whats the best size timber to use - gap is about 30" wide.

Sturdy enough for going up with loads but light enough to lift/pivot it back into place so it's out of the way.

Have some 7"*1 3/4" left over but it would weight a ton.

    so what to use -- 6*1 ??

    Thx

    K
