    PH01, you're famous ;)

    THAT'S that, then.

"It's all over, bar the shouting," claimed PH01 on boards.ie in response to the results of the latest Irish Independent poll.

"It's goodbye FF, hello FG," he added. "We can begin to look forward to five years of rainbow government."

The reality is somewhat different, of course, at least for another eight days or so.

And, at least for another eight days or so, Fianna Fail deputies will fight the good fight while sticking to the mantra of not going into coalition with the Shinners. But do we believe a word that comes out of their mouths?

"It looks like Sinn Fein has timed (its) breakthrough moment to perfection," we're told on Slugger O'Toole.

"At 10pc in the current poll they appear to be a buoyant position." Raven goes further: "SF to gain enough seats to support a Fianna Fail government. Wonder will they be 'good enough' for FF then?"

And yet the likely alternative wasn't sounding too uplifting either.

"(Enda) Kenny is an intelligent guy, and will make a good Taoiseach, but only after two mediocre years during which he'll eventually lose his confidence, attempt to play safe, and get attacked from all sides," according to Saratoga on politics.ie.

One less-than-notable absentee from the latest poll was the Planning Reform Party, headed up by recluse and sometime carpark attendee Noel O'Gara. Mr O'Gara is running in four constituencies, which is hardly surprising given he doesn't like the present incumbents much.

" They are self-serving wafflers who have unbounded arrogance to be taking on the business of the nation," he writes on politics.ie.
