Personally I'd have checked behind on the turn and bet the River and this outcome would be unlikely.

As played, it's tricky and I could go either way between folding and calling. With slightly more emphasis on the fold button.

    lol.

you are only beating a bluff and at the lower levels people slowplay a lot and are generally passive so i really cant see him c/raising the river with air.fold.

not sure if you saw his stats VP$ip is 70 so would betting turn not be +ev ?

I think it's a fold, expect to see a house and also occasionally a straight pretty much all of the time.
In saying that I still press call as in the 30 seconds I have I just think omg trip jacks, call call call

The reason I'd check behind on the turn is because we have a hand with good showdown value and if we check I think we are more likely to get a weaker hand to pay off on the River. It just controls the pot size so it is more manageable, this is a hand to win a small pot with and we have no need any more to try and fold out a better hand (edit: because we won't be able to, as before a K, Q or A might have folded). If I had more history with the Villain I might bet the turn certainly, but checking under represents our hand and betting over represents it, I'll always go for under-representing our hand when we have something that can win the pot on the River.

It's SB v BB so his VPiP has slightly less relevance as he could have anything here, he certainly might call with a 6 or 7 but his Pre-Flop stats don't really help with that and over 13 hands, his stats are irrelevant but certainly they would indicate he was very loose PF.

Folded it but say him make a similar move with air later

tbh on these levels i find the overbet is very often the best hand. represents a bluff.

However all in over bet im not so sure!

Maybe this is what hotspurs was talking about! I would hate a check on the turn here. Given we bet the flop betting the turn doesnt over rep our hand, we shouldnt really have a jack here, but we do. The guy will call almost certainly call three bets with top pair from the flop.

River is nasty, id fold though if he was passive.

True we shouldn't have a J here, but we do and by betting we're showing it doesn't scare us, therefore IMO we are over-repping our hand, checking might let him think we are scared of that J.

IMO it's unlikely we get 3 bets out of a weak 7 or 8 here, K/A, 7 or 8 possibly, but more than likely we only will be getting 2 so whether we bet the the turn or River doesn't really make that much difference to me, although as I said with history I'll bet all 3 streets because of (a) my image or (b) him being a station.

Also now we can't fold out a better hand (such as betting to fold out A,K or Q high on the flop) we are only betting for value, and as I've said above personally I think we're only getting one more bet, so I'd prefer that bet to be on the River because by checking here it might also look like we're giving up on the pot and might induce a bluff on the River we can call, and that's more money that we wouldn't have got had we bet the turn.

As for hotspurs comments, it's quite simple I'm playing a small pot here, and I'd like to get to show down if possible, (i.e. keep the pot manageable, possibly a wrong use of the phrase but meh) if I bet and am raised, we'll probably have to fold, (no showdown) it's unlikely he'll check the River again with a better hand if we check the turn, so we can call for basically the same price as betting the turn but get to showdown and still lose the hand. I'm not playing for stacks with this hand, therefore I want to keep the pot relatively small, I know a turn bet isn't exactly going to bloat the pot or anything, but for the variety of reasons outlined above all combine into keeping the pot manageable.
