    Hiya,

I'm thinking of buying a gig ticket from someone in the UK (saw it on gumtree). I've never done this and was wondering about the general procedure in such things is - payment upon receiving the ticket or half payment upfront...or something else?

yeah i've done the buyandsell ticket thing too... the guy said he bought a load of tickets for his mates from another person who had charged double. i didn't believe him, but paid anyway... couldn't find people selling tickets at face value. you send the money by registered post n hope they complete their part of the bargain. if they don't blast them off gumtree!!

I'd rather miss a gig than pay some **** more than face value, unless maybe it was leonard cohen or tom waits and even then i probably wouldn't. There will be other concerts.

If it was Leonard Cohen or Tom Waits I'd pay anything:) but I'd make sure I didn't have to resort to a tout in the first place for such important gigs!

someone I know has bought a good few tickets for gigs both here & abroad from ebay and hasn't had a problem yet. I did it once too for a gig in london & got it for not much more than face value!
Wouldn't pay a lot more mind you, have missed gigs before because touted tickets got too high & hate supporting touting!
