Newsreaders standing up

I was watching sky news earlier, and it just struck me how uncomfortable the newsreaders seemed to be standing up reading the headlines rather than sitting down behind a desk. Its particularly striking when you see two or three newsreaders standing up, holding all their notes in their hands and pretending to have a laid back conversation together. I really don't think it works. And it takes attention away from what they're actually saying. Anyone else find it annoying?

Yeah and it's even worse on ITV when they insist on walking around their spaceship thing while they're reading links. But then again RTE can get a bit dull with the same camera angles for a full hour so I cant decide which I prefer!

It also puts additional pressure on the newsreaders to be super fit. If you're behind a desk you can let your beer gut hang out but if you're standing up you're expected to have pert buns:D
