Cash or Tourney

I've made a rather poor effort to play more cash games recently ( online 90% ). Some of you have made this transition before so a couple of questions.

    Did you enjoy the change

    Did you enjoy the challenge

Did you find it a grind / less fun than tourney play

If so did you give up or how did you motivate to stick it out

Did you show a loss early on

Where you inclined to want to go back playing tourney's

Was it worth the effort and why

Not sure if this will mean a lot to anyone but I'll give it a go anyhow :o

I never much of a tourney player to begin with after learning the trade thru csh but one thing I might say is they are very different brasts. Remember that in cash its not about survival the game will always be there big drawing hands a way valueable in cash than tourney because of the implied odds. You will get paid as people are less scared of hands when the can reload at any time Whereas in tourneys and bad call or missing and your out. But by far the thing about cash is bankroll management there are several good blogs and books on the topic and plenty of the lads on here will be able to give you good advice GL

    Yours Faithfully

It meant not having to hang around for a decent tournament to start or SnG to fill up.

    Did you enjoy the challenge
    Yep.

Did you find it a grind / less fun than tourney play
More grind and less fun. You don't get that buzz that you get during the break before the FT starts.

If so did you give up or how did you motivate to stick it out
I just wanted to see if I could make the transition so stuck it out for a while.

Did you show a loss early on
I think I was lucky to get off to a decent start. Which I then lost. But then I started winning so it worked out nicely!

Where you inclined to want to go back playing tourney's
    Yes

Was it worth the effort and why
It was worth the effort as my bankroll shot up a lot quicker than it did while playing tournaments. Once I got round the difference in game play it was well worth it. Now I will normally play a decent tournament, if there is one on, plus a couple of cash games. If I go deep i'll leave the cash games for a while to concerntrate on the tourrney though.

i started off buliding my roll from 5 buck sngs and cheap mtts the moved to .50/1 cash and worked up to 2/4 and 3/6.

at first i dint enjoy the change because i was losing the first few sessions. the reason for this was because it took me a while to be able to change from survival mode to cash mode.

i did enjoy the challenge and still am. theres nothing more satisfying that sucsellfully beating levels. if theres 1 thing i regret i wish i started at 0.01/0.02 and beat every level up to 3/6. it was a little less fun at first but i think its just a mental adjustment.

after my first few losing sesions i started showing a profit. that motivated me to be honest. also anaylysing all my hands and looking for leaks kept me motivated.

ill occasionly play a sng after a bad run or bad beat. i still play alot of mtts. all the big ones on FT,stars, ipoker etc etc. but cash games are still my main income.

yes the best thing i have ever done poker wise. my profit playing 3/6 cash is much more than playing the equivalent sngs. and also because i think i have vastly more experience playing cash which in turn makes me a better player

I decided to play a load of STT's about ten months ago.
At the time Robin Lacey inquired as to why I would want to do such a thing because in his opinion cash was by far more interesting and more profitable.
After about a week I realised he was right.
    Cash FTW.
