Not sure what happened to the last thread... :o

Any recommendations for a family friendly hotel in Ireland for a 5 night break in July/Aug?

    Thanks in advance.

Not sure what you define as child friendly but my wife and I and out 2 1/2 year old stayed in the self catering houses in Mount Wolseley (Tullow, Co Carlow) recently and they worked out perfectly for us.

The houses are 4 bed with all the usual bits and bobs. You also get use of the hotel facilities (i.e. gym, pool, sauna, etc). We found their attitude to families was very good and they were very friendly indeed. We booked them through Dream Ireland who also have other options in Ireland.

We also stayed a couple of nights last year in Kellys Rosslare. This is not a cheap option but it is perfect for families as they run lots of activities for kids.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks for the tips Kenco. Will look into your suggestions. Child age is 7.

Stayed in the Tullamore Court Hotel on the Easter bank holiday weekend. It is family friendly with a kids club and a nice swimming pool. It was quite cheap also. Would definitely recommend it.

I second the holiday homes at Mount Wolseley, the homes are lovely.

The Quality Hotel in Clonakilty is good, also has holiday homes and onsite cinema. The Quality Hotel in Oranmore, Co Galway has a good reputation for families. The Greenhills in Limerick is good, as is the Moran's Silver Springs in Cork.

How far are you willing to travel?

I've heard nothing but good things about http://www.millstonecottages.com/ but you would want to book it up fast as its getting full for those months.

I've stayed in Langtons Hotel in Kilkenny and was really pleased with everything, very friendly staff and we got one of the penthouse rooms, huge!! Walk in wardrobe, jacuzzi bath and all at no extra cost. Thats www.langtons.ie, was a nice place and would go back in a heartbeat.

Depends what and where you are looking for really.

I recommend the Quality Resort Killarney. They have standards rooms, suites (bedroom & living room with small kitchen), 2 bed appartments and 3 bend houses. Very family orientated and good kids facilities on site, plus a lot to do in the area.
