    Hi Folks,
Recently I bought a pc & tv kit from Aldi and my aim was to connect the pc with LCD tv but somewhere I'm doing something wrong.

so at the back of my pc I have S video connection (out) and even on the TV I have the same connection (in). I've tried with an S video cable but no success and even tried to connect with a scart converter that was with the package.

any idea's what I'm doing wrong?

does your pc have a tv card,if it does you can just hook it up via a scart cable.

I'm guessing with the tv you have it's hdmi or dvi does your tv card support this?

Have you actually gone into the display settings on your PC and selected the TV as your new display. It won't automatically switch over, you need to tell the computer that you want to use the TV.

You haven't told us exactly what's not happening for you, can you give us some more detail?

Does your LCD TV have a VGA input many do these days if so just use that instead of mucking about with s-video or scart.

Would you care to share your success?

What were you doing wrong & how did you sort it?

Others might benefit from it you know ;)

eo980's post covers what you need to do.

    If you want it repeated over s-video;
    * Make sure display drivers are up to date from ATI/NVIDIA.
    * Plug in s-video connection from graphics card output to TV input.
    * Go into graphics card control panel multi-display section it should pick up TV as second display.
    * Enable multi-display mode and select whatever mode takes your fancy like clone or span.

Im having a similar problem, trying to connect pc to a 21" standard tv using an S-video cable. Its a 6800 card and the only option i can find is to switch to tv output which when activated turns the monitor off but doesnt show anything on the tv. The S-video cable is plugged into the yellow socket in the tv.
Edit - Ive set the tv as a clone and still im not getting any picture on the TV.

My cousin has a Goodmans LCD TV which in VGA mode will only allow a 1024x768 resolution despite the panel being 1440x900. It looks absolutely manky! I don't know how it fairs with HDMI because he doesn't have the DVI-HDMI cable.
