I am in the process of considering a career change to Accountacy and looking into starting an IATI Course in September. I am just wondering if anyone knows of places that the course/ Lectures are good or places not to go to? I live on the North side of Dublin so ideally im looking for courses around the North side or city center.

I've found the quality if IATI lectures vary very very much, some classes seem to have excellent tutors others are criminally poor. we complained about lecturers this year and last year, as did colleagues in Carlow, as did my brother when doing it in Dublin etc .

I would also say the law manuals are very poor - there are alternate books which people seem much happier with - you can pm for details if you like .

IT is the most outdated material I have every seen - but I understand the syllabus is changing significantly?

If you do go ahead i suggest doing as much practical work as possible , for example the topic of Production budgets in the manual is a million times removed from the the actual questions that appear in exams

Some are of the opinion you can skip the classes if lecturer are poor - and manage only on the seminars . I would definitely agree that Willie Murphys Taxation seminars are essential

    Sorry - I didn't answer your question
