    Hello peeps, im not sure if this is the right place to post this but... anyway im on a Macintosh, ive installed Windows XP and im using Parallels Desktop. One of the main reasons i have a mac is the virus factor basically cant get any. And i want to know now that ive installed windows can my whole machine be infected by viruses or just the windows files that i will have, any help would be great, thank you ;)

    very handy, you might be wondering why i have installed windows if i bought a mac in the first place, just some games and apps that OS X cant do...

    most if not all anti-virus vendors use virtual machines/emulators to reverse engineer malware, and malware authors (mainly rootkits) use them for testing purposes.
