Hi.Im left handed and i think its about time to get an electric guitar.Everyone keeps telling me to get a right handed one but after oodles of research ( and beating guitar hero 2 right handed) ive decided to get a left handed one. Anyone know a good amp + guitar starter pack combo ? Getting it on the net isnt an option and my max is around 300 euro. Waltons have an epiphone for 315 with amp tuner etc, a sx gg1k for 270 a sx sst 62k for 220.Are any of those worth getting ? If not does anyone know a good guitar shop with a better offer on lefties ? Thanks a lot,Gerry.

I have the right-handed version of the sx sst 62.It was my first electric guitar and i still love it.The only problem is that the amp isnt too good but other than that i think its a good guitar for the money.I can't imagine the left-handed guitar is much different?

tell em to f off if they tell you to play righty

Just play whatever way you feels natural and you'll be ok, dont force it if its ment to be its ment to be... its your decision!

the sx doesnt look THAT bad, the yamaha and marshall kits are ok, usual squire ones too, there all kinda the same those starter packs, whaever looks nice

I'm a lefty playing righty and I would seriously advise you to reconsider your choice. If you learn to play righty you'll avoid endless disappointment when trying out and buying new guitars. The lefty guitar range simply can't compete with the righty range. It took me a while to get to grips with the right handed format but I the rewards definitely outway the inconvenience factor.

The reason im choosing a left handed guitar is that ive read extensive postings of left handers who play righty and then run straight into a brick ceiling where no mater how much they practice they cant get beyond. Also it takes them on average longer to learn various things. Lots of regrets there when you cant get further but have invested too much effort to change.Congratulations on being able to play well righty. It does suck about the crappy choice of guitars for us.But in the end i think screw it,if someone doesnt play lefty nothings going to change. More than 10% of the population is left handed and growing (since schools stopped trying to "fix" us).So ill give it a shot and see what happens.

If i ever did play right handed id always think would I be better if i played left handed, but i feel a lot more comoftable playing it, never even considered playing righty

I remember wen i got my first acoustic guitar for Christmas the guy in waltons gave me a righty guitar and i automaticly played it lefthanded, he told me to flip it over to play, so i did, but it just felt soo uncomfortable and a lot worse, so i had to go walk down to waltons on frederick street in the rain then get a friggen packed bus home with it was horrible, but i got it in the end

I picked up things very fast, especialy legato they came pretty easy, think its because im mainly right handed but i play left

and nowadays there is a helluva a lot beter chpice than there was even 10 years ago

I'm a lefty and I'm glad I learned to play left.
It's frustrating enough starting off without adding to the difficulty.
The guitar choice sucks but it is improving.

Actually, I have a couple of lefty guitars that I was planning on selling.
Give me a day or two to get pictures, etc. and I'll put em up on adverts.ie
