French Guineas & Triple Crowns

A fine race in defeat by Finsceal Beo who was only beaten on the line. Unfortunately this means no unique English-French-Irish 1000 Guineas "Triple Crown" but I believe she will still run at the Curragh.

A P O'Brien once again won the French 2000 Guineas, and this time with 3 finishers in the first 4 with Jim Bolger's Creachadoir coming second for a dominating performance by the Irish trainers. Hard luck story of the race is definitely Excellent Art, whose jockey Jamie Spencer once again found his passage blocked but the colt fairly flew home and perhaps may have won with a better ride.

As an aside, I've always thought that the English, French and Irish racing administrators should work together to promote a European 1000/2000 Guineas Triple Crown. They can keep the English Triple Crown (but I don't expect to see it won in the next 30 years) and the Irish and French Triple Crown's don't really exist anymore (the St. Legers are all-aged races) - so a series like this would offer more publicity to racing.

Indeed if the French hadn't reduced their Derby distance to 10.5f, I would be saying the same thing for a European Derby Triple Crown.

they'd have to rearrange the dates if it was to become a viable target imo. a week between races is too short obviously
