Even with fast dealers there are only going to be 7 or 8 hands per level with 9 players at the table. Is there no way the levels can be longer?

This is a good idea, the fact that it is close to UCD and our pokersoc used to meet on mondays may mean more runners.

Still the levels are a bit short, u could see a whole level without posting a blind for that level.

I'm sure JP is under time constraints in the spawell, he is forced to have the game over at a certain time. Believe me, if he could have 40 min levels he would.

    Hi Guys,

As Lazare stated there are time constraints with running pub games. The latest this game can go to is 1pm.

We will repeat blind levels or make them longer if time allows.
E.g. Last Thursday we had 54 players in Molloys, we repeated the 1000-2000 and the 2000-4000 level.

Tonight is our 1st game having dealers at our pub games. I hope to make this 20 min levels from 500-1000 but would need to see how we are for time after tonight.

I figured that might be the case alright but I think it might be a few people off. The location is very handy for me so I might pop down see what its like.

    Hi Jimmii,

Tonight is our 1st night back in the spawell after 10 weeks in the Red Cow on Monday nights. My guess is that their will be 35-45 so i expect to be able to repeat a few levels. Hope to see you there.

As usual JP - best of luck with this. I won't be in attendance myself - but I do understand the time contraints of playing in licensed premises. I am sure that compared to other pub games around the City - this will compare very favourably.

    Hey Guys,

I had a couple of my dealers count how many hand they were getting in per round. The most was 9 the lowest was 6 (this round has some big hand been played out).

We didn't repeat any levels last night as I wanted to see how close to finishing time it ran, however a deal was done with 30 mins of play left on the cash and the lads played on for the tickets.

I will be making some changes in the next 2 weeks to try ensure everyone pays a SB & BB in each level. Firstly we will play 8 handed and not 9 handed as we did last night. Secondly i will try 20 min blinds from the 1000-2000 level next week and 18 min blinds from the 300-600 the following week.

Ultimately i want to run a tournament that allows for the best possible play given the time contraints without the game ending on a chip count.
