Using iMovie projects in FCE. No Sound

I have imported a ton of vidoe footage using iMovie 6. Decided it was time to try my hand and more advanced features of FCE 3.5. But when i open the iMovie projects i get no soound. `just a beeping when it plays. Can anyone tell me what i need to do to get sound running? Don't want to have to import all that stuff again.…

Should it not just be compatible between two Apple apps?
