First off.. can i say a huge sorry if ive put this in the wrong forum.....

Second...Is is possible to get a ps2 fixed?is it worth it? my son is now on his second ps2 for some reason they just stop playing the games, as it sits now it'll only play a couple of games there's nothing wrong with the games or the movies- it just seems to randomly play. The idea of buying him another one(again) is a bit annoying!! and he's 12 so theres' no chance of a ps3*as much as he'd like it) :) So...any ideas?

    Thanks so much :)

First this is the right place!

Does he get a "Disk read error" message?

As far as i know every PS2 runs into this problem after 2-3 years. I bought 2. My first PS2 lasted 5 years, first 3 years fine but the last 2 years dvds and my old PS1 games wouldnt work anymore and then it stopped playing PS2 games altogether. My second one (about 2 years old now) has just reached the point where dvds give me trouble. And i am so annoyed about it.

Buy a CD/DVD cleaner and put it in to clean the PS2 lens. That may help for some period of time.

This happened to mine as well,I was told that the laser needed adjustment and it didnt cost much to fix, but I opted to get a ps3 instead.

Hiya guys thanks for the answers !!:)

No , no disk error, it just seems to reboot itself back to the beginning again, and go to the original screen-doesnt show the game screen at all.

but the disk cleaner just may be the answer*i hope* if not where would i take it to be fixed?Im in Co.Kildare,....

    Thanks again
