I'm looking to pick up some cheap gamcube games for my wii but was just wondering what people's favorite games where.

(couldn't find another thread for this although the search function is dodgy at best)

Pretty much any Nintendo 1st party titles are worth picking up as well as the aforementioned Resident Evil 4 (and the rest of the series). There's also Tales of Symphonia and Skies of Arcadia for RPG's, Ikaruga, Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes (i like it... some hate it) etc...

    There's a small list here too; http://www.gamespot.com/games.html?type=top_rated&platform=11&mode=all&sort=score&dlx_type=all&date_filter=all&sortdir=asc

Some of the better Gamecube games are fairly rare now, and not too cheap. You should be able to get some at a good price on Ebay though, like Eternal Darkness, Resident Evil REmake (and Zero, 4 is still pretty pricey but brilliant), Pikmin, Zelda Wind Waker (I recommend getting the limited edition if you can find it at a good price, so you have Ocarina of Time too), Killer 7 (though that'll be hit and miss, I love it, but many don't), Super Monkey Ball, Viewtiful Joe.

Tales of Symphonia and Paper Mario are hard to come by these days and are usually over £30 on Ebay. Resi 4 has come down a bit since the RE4 Wii announcement, but is probably around £20 now.

I could never get past the big monster in the church in Eternal Darkness... great game though... I must dig it out again one of these days.

Had a long drunkin talk about Enternal Darkness in the pub over the weekend. Its the only game that really freaked me out.
Resident Evil 4 wasnt as scary as the others but still one of my favourite GC games.
Also for its insanely good multiplay games Super Monkey Ball.
    Zelda Windwaker of course
and SSX 3, which i still play today.

Like the OP, after getting my Wii, I decided to make a concerted efford to pick up all the good games I could find for the GCN, (even though I owned a GCN and had a few games for it, it took a sad second place to my ch*pped Xbox). I picked up the following in the last few weeks:

    Super Mario Sunshine
    SSBM
    Battalion Wars
    Metal Arms
    Ikaruga (wow!)
    Geist
    Pikmin
    Pikmin 2
    Super Monkey Ball
    Eternal Darkness

Cost a bit, but worth it. Now just looking for a copy of Chibi Robo going cheap and I'm set.
