    Thats a pretty interesting article alright. I didnt know mitochondria had control over apoptosis.

    The problem is not the perfusion of the cardiac tissue but the lack of perfusion to the brain- I have seen survivors of prolonged ressussitation who have no quality of life due to profound mental handicap. - Often these are younger people who for various reasons have longer and more intense efforts at ressusitation.
