What do you think of my plan?

I don't know how many of you read the Live vs Online: hands per hour thread here, , which got hi-jacked by an MS Paint competition for which the winner got $15 off Lloyd...

Anyway, I asked the question how much would you have after a year by adding 10% to your bankroll every day starting at $20 (I got up to 90 days - think it was $100k+); but after careful consideration thought it might be slightly too difficult for someone like me.

Instead, I'm thinking of adding $10 to my roll (currently $25.09) every day for 5 months, and moving up levels when I have 10 buy-in's. This should, after 5 months, suitably bankroll me for $1/2 (a lot of people would be happy with that I'd say).

I've found that one of the reasons people go broke so much (I've done it a fair few times) is they don't have patience; so sticking to this, I feel, should allow me to develop good discipline while increasing my bankroll without too much pressure ($10 p/d doesn't seem too difficult). If I go broke, I go broke, I'm just using the $15 Lloyd sent me through PokerStars.

And that's it! I thought it'd be pretty maaaad if I did manage it and it all came from an MS Paint comp kindly organised by Lloyd.

    ish.

When I have my first child im going to plant a tree on the day he is born. A tree that grows quite fast. Each morning I will bring him out and get him to jump over the tree. (At first he will just be jumping over the ground). Since each day the tree never grows any more than a negligible amount, the child should always be able to jump over it. Within 20 years or so he will be able to jump over entire forests.

At first you'll need to have your whole roll at the table the whole time which gives you a pretty big chance of going broke. Nice idea but unlikely to work out as good easy as it looks on paper. But good luck with it if you do go for it. Be a great story if you pulled it off!

Well I currently have 2.5 buy-in's for .05/.10 which is where I'll stay until I get up to $200.

Once I reach that I'd be grand, and even then there's no real need to move up levels (as I'd still just be trying to make $10/day) but that'd mean that if my bankroll did reach $1600, I'd only have experience playing .05/.10 so I'd be a bit out of my depth.

We'll see how it goes, I was thinking of blogging it but I'm pretty sh1t at keeping them updated.

Good thing about it too is that it (shouldn't) take too much time out of my day, leaving me time to study for exams.

    ish.

PS. Hj, interesting few lines! bubbleking the buzzkiller had to ruin it though...

so the plan is to win $10 a day? seems a bit pointless tbh.

yeah i agree with phantom when your bankroll reaches a certain point your wins (and loses) become insignifficant unless your moving up levels.

Don't worry, I am sure he will get board one night and dokey it off on an hour of 1/2...

you've been reading boards long enough to know the mantra by now.

    "move up levels"

sit down with one buy in, double up, move up, rinse and repeat. Running goot you'll be heads up with sbrugby in no time!

    Most likely outcome for sure.

I think you were better with the % idea, but not 10% thats too high to maintain.
$10/day is too high now, and will be not high enough when you get to $200
Just stick to your set but-in limits and play poker, dont worry about making daily targets, its serves no purpose other than getting you to play when you shouldn't

    move down levels.
you are inadequately bankrolled for .05/.10 NL.

Technically true I guess, but there's no way I'm playing .01/.02.

Up to $30.04 at the mo, will try reach $40 by the end of the day. Then I'll stick to the planned strict regime.

Theres mistake number 2, trying to reach a target that is outside of your limits, a 30% increase is possible, but it is too much of your BR to have in play at once,
mistake 1 was playing outside you limits btw

TBH insafehands your better off just playing normally none of this lets make ten dollars today crap.

The fact of the matter is some days you will feel like playing longer then others,

For example what happens when you see a good fish who is spewing money, do you stop once you get your ten dollars into you? of course not.

Also what happens if you have just done an all nighter and are still drunk the following day, do you sit in and play to get your ten dollars?

Over the course of three months you will not win ten dollars every day FACT!
In evitably variance will give you a losing day, and sometimes you will win more then ten dollars a day.

Just play normally and use proper BR management!
