I have one and it KICKS A55. Its cheap, the plastics good quality and fires well, the magazines seem to be a bit of a letdown though

But i think its a little over a joule and the 12 year olds i know arent to be trusted such toys

I've got one and its good, last time i got it chrono'd at HRTA it was 360 i think, that should go down to about 330-340 after bedding in tho, i changed the spring anyway to a 1J spring so i dont know what fps it is now. The mags i got all work fine and feed ok.

BTW all JG AEG's are good quality as far as i know, My bro has the Mp5 and from reading on other forums the M4/M16 etc.. are all as good

DBOY's Have started adding 7mm Bearing bushes to there AEGs now, so that should mean no need to go into the gearbox :D

if your going to allow a 12 year old use an AEG (under strict supervision i assume) then i'd say get him something a little less powerful, the JG G36 fires "around 1 Joule", which is to say it's advertised as being 350-360fps but realistically probably fires about 330fps after it settles in*

at 12, he's not gonna be skirmish'ing for a couple of years (what age is predator 12 or 14??) so maybe get him a bolt action rifle and let him practice target shooting? or how about an AEP?

*=based on personally opinion alone, not fact

Thanks for the words folks, just waiting for Keith to get back to me. He will not be allowed to use it unless I am with him and I know that he is too young to goto HRTA etc, but at this stage he will just be learning

And of course, it will give me a new gun to test at HRTA when I get to go again

Ahhh...now we see the real reason for your generosity !

I bought my son an X-Box when he was 8 months old for exactly the same reason ;)

Well it needs to be tested to make sure it is suitable :)

Min age at Predator is 12 now I think. One of the Predator staff posted that info on one of the threads here a while ago.

My bro is 13 (since april) and has a famas! He's resposible enough cause he knows he'll lose it permenantly if he's not. He's been to pred 3 times but not HRTA yet(Woulda tried to slip in but broke his arm) JG seem very good all round. The G36c Review on arnies is god...where is it...Here:D

Ensure he treats it as if it were a 100% real gun that was lethal, even if unloaded. That way there is small risk of any injury.

Also, it depends on the person. My 16 yearo old friend is a nut-job so his parents make him store his P90 at my house(:D ) for when we go skirmishing! I your son is a messer dont bother as somebody will just get hurt.

He seems to be level headed enough unlike my older son, who would be concern with any airsoft. Gonna have a look at that review now

Hey tcob. How you doing man. JG are great guns. All the reviews on them say they kick ass. And the bast part of all, if he doesn't like the sport, you have another piece of kit to your arsenal.

EDIT: Maybe a collapsible stock instead of a fold able stock so just in case with the stock folded out on the G36 he might not be able to shoulder it properly as with the MP5 SD6 the stock can put in to suit the length of his arms.
