So 2 big questions this year -
Is Nadal unbeatable at Roland Garros?
Will Roger Federer do enough to reach the Final after his recent run of poor results?

I love tennis, and i firmly believe Nadal basically has his name written in pencil on the trophy already; but i think his biggest rival at the slam won't be Roger rather it will come from a South American - Gonzalez or Canas. Anybody any thoughts?

Also, i think the womens side is wide open, Sharapova and Hingis are doubts so its really between Serena Williams, Justine Henin or even an outside bet for Amelie Mauresmo, but i don't think she will ever win her home slam.:(

Nadal seems virtually unbeatable I think. It'd take a great performance from someone to beat him.

The womens is wide open as usual. Hope mauresmo does well. She really should do better in the french. Like you say though, the nerves seem to get the better of her still.

I wouldnt be surprised if Federer beat him in the final.
He must be getting sick and tired of losing to Nadal.
The courts in Paris are getting faster all the time due to the changing surface so Federer will have a better chance.

Just watched the final of the masters from Hamburg, and with Federer finding form on clay; and beating his hoodoo with Nadal..... makes Roland Garros a bit more interesting.

Right now Federer has every chance as he did beat Rafa in Hamburg, proving that he (Federer) is a real talent on Clay. It's not like McEnroe or Sampras who really didn't do well on clay. Roger does very well on Clay. It's just that Nadal is quite special on clay. Roger is probably the 2nd best Clay court player in the world today. Hamburg and his run to the semis of Roland Garros have proved this. I think Federer beats Nadal this time in France:)

If both of them are at their best Federer will win 9/10 times,he is so good.
Whether he can maintain that form over 5 sets is questionable.
Federer will try and go all out to win the first 2 sets against Nadal,if he does he will win .

But does he win 9/10 on Clay??
    Nadal is excellent on clay.
I agree on say a grass surface or hard court that
Federer is just too good, but on Clay he will maybe win
4-5 out of ten I would think

    Good match today.
Federer made too many unforced errors on his forehand and his first serve % was woeful in the first 2 sets.
He also made alot of tactical mistakes and didnt deploy the right tactics at the right time.
He was hot and cold, very patchy.
Despite that he could have won if he had capitalised on his break point opportunities.
1/17 is awful compared to Nadals 4/10 which was at one stage 3/3.
Federer needs to be more aggressive against Nadal as he plays best when on the offensive .
Next year could be the year.

But if Nadal is injured or something one year, then he'll have every chance.
