Thanks Mathias, however this does turn out to cost the same ! (€200 again :( ) as you have to stay a minimum of two nights here it looks like. What to do ... What to do !!............

    Try Stauntons on the Green.

good clean accomodation and a very good breakfast - all for less than €100 at weekends.

    also try www.laterooms.com

This is my mate's B&B. It's just down the road from the Burlington.

I stayed in jurys on parnell street 2 weeks ago and it was 97 euro for the night for 2 people for a twin room.
I arrived in to the hotel at 10pm and saw the room rates on the sign were for 200 euro for the room for the night but I decided to ask anyway and before I asked him to do me a deal he said they had one for 97 euro.
It is a top class hotel just off oconnell street so you cant get more central than that.
My advice is just turn up and ask for a room (if it is only one night), they prefer to let it out for less than the regular rate than have it empty.
I reckon most of the city centre hotels are like this.
You would have to take a chance on coming to dublin without a booking though.
