Working with one of "The Big Four"?

So it's that time of year, and I've finished another year of my degree, so of course I've started thinking about my future job prospects. Anyway, so I'm really considering applying for one of the big four firms, (MOP, A & L Goodbody, Arthur Cox, etc) when they open applications for internships again in September.

I'm just wondering has anyone any experience with working/applying for internships with these firms? What are they looking for candidate wise? I mean with regards grades, if they were to accept me I wouldn't even have my finals fully completed, so do they take 1st and 2nd year's results into account? How are the interviews?

I've browsed their respective websites but was looking for a bit of 1st hand experience!
