Summer hols and picnic tables

Does anyone else notice that families don't really seem to use picnic tables anymore??
We would always head off to the beach or the woods during the summer holidays. The Costa del West Cork was as far as we'd go. My parents had the uncanny ability of finding vacant picnic tables within a 20 mile radius. All I remember were big bottles of TK and Country Spring, plastic cups, sandwiches wrapped in tinfoil, 6 packs of crisps and a thermos flask for tea.
    Any holiday stories folks?

We used to go up to Kilmurray woods of a Sunday with the Mosses (from further up the estate). We'd have mi-wadi and cherrry coca cola, iced queen cakes, finger sanwiches and blue or green mister freeze for afters. we'd then paddle in the stream that ran on one side of the forest...those were the days. I don't see anyone having picnics there now though. That was the 1980's.

We used to go to Bettystown as kids quite often, yep the TK Red Lemonade and Kimberly Mikados were all present. :)

We used to have great times at the side of the road on the way up North. My mum would always have sandwiches in the brennans bread bag with a bottle of MiWadi.
