    Hi,

Got a card off someone who i met. I was talking to them about getting into their line of business and that is what i would like to do.

I emailed him and told him pretty much this again. He said to come in for a chat and he would "set me on the right path".

Now, i dont think this is an interview at all. I think he just a nice person who sees fit to help me out. But what if i am wrong. I dont know whether to even wear a suit of what!!

And if it is an informal chat, would i just come out and say id like to work for his company? Or would that be cheeky?

    Thanks

Definately wear a suit. If he looks like you like your a twat or asks about it just say you were at or are going to something formal. If you go casual and it is an interview you could be fluttered.

I also dont think there is anything wrong with saying you want to work for his company. He obviously likes you or thinks you have some qualities and it cant hurt to ask.

Finally I would say this is an interview. Dont see why anyone would ask someone to come into where they work just to give them some carrer pointers.

No, its not being cheeky, employers like to know you are keen to work with them and why. Tell him you would like to work there and ask if there is a position available, if not ask to keep you in mind should one become available. And yes wear a suit, give a good impression regardless.
