divx player & WMP not showing subtitles

    have movie file, .avi format, file plays on both divx amd windows media player. installed vobsub, put subtitle file - .srt - into same folder as movie. movie file will not now play in either of the players. any ideas why this happens?

    if you right click the screen on divx player it gives you the option of which subtittle track you want to use.... i think! Might work with wmp too. Definatly happens with VLC media player

    cheers, turns out the subtitle filename was different from the movie filename :rolleyes: , matched them up & is working now.
