    Hi All

Just looking for suggestions for a good Perl editor for windows or even a more generic all-round editor thats free to download.

Would be willing to purchase also, if I felt it was the best out there!

    Cheers!

    Vim for windows is good.
(It takes a little getting used to, but if you are quick with the keyboard shortcuts, it can be great... I'm still not as good with it as I'd like to be)

If you don't like that you can try notepad++

There's loads more out there :)

editplus is pretty Windowsy with a bucketload of features and plugins.

gvim is probably what you want to use on Windows if you want vim, but beware, there's a large learning curve.

I personally prefer to use PSPad - it has multi-syntax highlighting and allows you to record macros to perform repitative functions

I have used many editors for scripting and personally I think that ultraedit-32 is the best. It has syntax highlighting for perl and python (or whatever language you care to use). Has tabs for multiscripts. It is also a good hex editor.
