I know there was a post somewhere on boards about something similar but I cannot find it so here goes.....

On the radio, about 3 weeks back. I won tickets to an event (can't post about it because its an MCD event) A end of year college event that is being held tonight. Anyway, I won these tickets and I haven't received them yet. As I said, its on tonight. Who do I phone regarding this??? I have send a message to the text line and sent an email and got no response. On the web page, it doesn't give a contact number to ring just fill out the form someone will get back to you CR*P.

    So what do I do????

Ring directory enquiries and ask for a number to ring them on. Failing that, find where their offices are and pay them a visit.

I know what event you're talking about, and the tickets were only available to be collected by the students, in college, this morning. Did you give the radio show enough details to be able to contact you quickly and arrange to hand them over to you?

If I were you I'd get on to the SU of the college and college organisers of the event. They'd surely have a record of who they gave sponsored tickets to, could possibly contact the organisers from the radio show, and track down where your tickets went. I hope someone in the radio station hasn't swiped them to use themselves!

Radio shows are brutal for this kind of thing, I once had to pick up concert tickets I won from a postal depot about a half hour walk away 3 hours before the gig  You really want to start asking questions if they havent arrived a week beforehand.

btw if anyone cares re my prev thread on the same issue, I eventually got my DVDs :)

nah, I was right, nobody cares less.......

similar thing happened 2 me other week. My boyf won tickets to an event so radio stationm took his details and said they post them out. when we hadnt recieved them we rang and were told they had to be picked up at their office in ordre to get them. As he works in westmeath he asked if someone else could pick them up for him as the place is in dublin city centre. They said it had to by my boyf and he had to have photo id with him...so we never picked em up and never went

I bet someone in the office of the radio station decided not to post them, guessing if they didn't then it might get too late for the winner to collect them, then that person could use the tickets themselves.

If I was your boyfriend I'd write a letter to the person in charge of the radio station, outline what happened and state how disgusted he was to not be able to us the tickets he won, all because someone told him they'd post them and then didn't. Say that if he had been told on the day he won them that he'd have to pick them up, then he could have arranged to get in there to pick them up.

Or, he could ring up when they are live one day, use a different name/claim he wants to talk about something else/whatever it takes to get on air, then inform the host and all the listeners of what happened. Perhaps the embarrassment will tighten things up at the radio station so that this doesn't happen to anyone else. Who knows, maybe they'd give your boyfriend tickets to another gig instead.

    Thank you.

If someone wins a concert ticket at my station we tend to just have peoples names put down on the guest list... so no postage is necessary....

Tickets for this "end of year college event" can only be collected on the day. Maybe try ringing the college directly about it and see if they know about the compettion

Some muppet done that with Ian Dempsey a few weeks ago, and Dempsey sounded a lot better than the fool who rang complaining he recieved a stained tee-shirt. Dempsey made him sound like a complete idiot. If he had a problem he should have contactd the station in the appropriate way.

Just because somebody works in a radio station, doesn't make them any different to anyone else. Everybody is capable of human error.

You had 3 weeks to follow up with them, you should have done it before the day of the event and it would have more than likely been sorted.

Bit of a difference complaining about a stained t-shirt (I'm sure the guy could wash it) and not getting your tickets until after the event. Anyway, I'm sure the person will write their letter of complaint before they'd try anything like that!

Love2love, did you get your tickets? Are you going to the Ball?
