how can i check harddrive set-up from within windows?

    like the RAID setup and such like

    can it be done within windows? cant restart and take it from the setup screen coz its on a server thats in use

    Depends on the server. If it's totally a software RAID (not likely) right click on My Computer, go to Manage then go to Storage.

    If it's a HP server look for HP Management tools installed that will let you look at the RAID.

    its a dell poweredge

    so im presuming therell be some form of management for that?

    ill give it a shot anyway, cheers

    which one ?
    which raid card ? (device manager)

    goto the support site and type in your tag - you will get a parts list which should ID the card ( should but you may have to dig deeper as cards may have different names ) - then get drivers for the card
