Holiday Pay Entitlement

I recently changed jobs. My previous employer had me under a lot of pressure and so I didn't take all my holiday entitlements last year. On leaving I asked about getting paid in lieu but was told that as per my contract holidays do not carry over.

However I believe that it (carry over) only applies to non-statutory and I should be paid still for my statutory holidays not taken. Is this correct?

yes you are correct. If there are any others in the company that have carried over holidays then tell him that there is a precedent in the compnay that holidays are carried over if the company does not give the employee the ability to take the holidays. We have the same policy's here but we always pay out. Tell them that you are not happy with the response and take it to HR/social welfare. Not sure who you would take it to though.
