Its pretty sore, all piercings are tbh..I really wish people would stop asking that question, you are shoving a piece of metal into your body, of course its going to be sore.

The first 3 weeks, its a bit of a pain, just really uncomfortable to have sitting there. Its as prone to infection as any oral piercing. I took mine out over a year ago and I still have the hole in my lip.

it varies from person to person you cant really get a good idea of the pain until you actually get it done yourself, aftercare is grand as long as you keep cleaning it ll the time and using the mouth wash ever had any problems at all with mine

I've had my lip pierced four times...

I've had no problem with any of mine at all. As for does it hurt? It really depends on your pain threshold. Things like that don't effect or bother me in any way, so I'm no use there.

Just look after it well, and there's no problems. If in doubt, ask your piercer. They're not gonna laugh at you. They're there to provide a service, whic includes answering any questions you may have.

Plus you've got us guys!

Eating is uncomfortable for a while. I found I'd bite on the bar once or twice when eating, so be careful there.

Any other questions, ask em now!

Why? If you want a ring, get a ring...

STUD. DAMN IT GO WITH THE DAMNED STUD!!!!!!!!

I've had so many problems with my lip rings, it's just not funny. Personally, I'd reccommend keep the stud for a few months. Until it's FULLY healed.

Otherwise it can get painful and messy, IMO.

I've find healing with a ring gives you nothing but trouble.

Ugh. I'm forever loosing my 1.2mm balls. They're freakin tiny. I always carry a spare tho. Cos you never know!!!!

    Stud vs. Ring?

Hmm. Here's my take. A ring can pull bacteria through the piercing with movement from the wearer aand general use. Causes a bit of discomfort and makes the piercing get all ewwwy. This is just my personal experience with it. I put a ring in my lip when it was like 5mths old. Nexd day, I had mental swelling and crap. Fair enough, I'll blame it on the ring being too small, but any other time, I always get some kinda problem with it. Studs heal better and look better, IMO.

I have really really thin lips :( When I got my lip pierced I was happy when it swelled up because for ONCE in my life I had a sexy beestung lip thing going on.

It lasted less than 24 hours! I was so annoyed it didn't stay swollen longer. I was given a 10mm ring to accomodate for swelling... it was supposed to be the ring I was going to put in when the swelling went down. Stupid lip :(

From my personal experience I prefer the practicality of studs mainly because it is easier to eat and drink. With a cbr its just a pain in the ass and id say it hurts when healing if you hit it off a glass etc.
    but makes no real difference
    hope ya enjoy it.

Oh, I know this is OT but, have you tried Pout's 'Plump It' lipgloss? It's about 25e but it's fantastic. I've had mine for about 5 months now and there's loads left.

I love the clank of the ring off a glass or a spoon.

They make eating apples a pain in the testicles though.

    Healing with a stud ftw.

some people are als grand with getting kicked in the cojones, doesnt mean you should do it :)
makes no odds to me, i usually end up playing with the cbr's anyway  .... maybe thats why i found em hard to heal :D
