    Hi all,

There's a group of 5-10 guys thinking of heading to Turkey in early/mid June. But can't decide on Gumbet or Kusadasi. We'd like a busy place with a good selection of nitelife. Would Gumbet/Bodrum be busy enough in early/mid June???

P.S. I've been to Santa Ponsa and didn't really like it as I thought the nitelife was quiet there, i rathered the nearby resort Magalluf

Kusadasi is best for a lads holiday, far more clubs etc and loads more Irish bars. I used to sell property there and was in both places just before Christmas.

If I can be very general - Gumbet/Bodrum would be Dublin 4 and Kusadasi would be Kilkenny City. I'm actually thinking of going back to Kusadasi myself - check in with Omni Travel as they were doing a 3* Hotel for the first or second week in June for €329pp.

I've been to Kusadasi twice and loved it. Bar Street is great fun.
    I'd absolutely recommend it.

Not always true. Both times I went to Kusadasi I landed in Izmir airport which is about an hour's drive.

Haha 10 lads mid early mid june....has all the signs of a gaa team who are waiting for a window to get away!!! No doubt theres an non-drinker who is the life and soul of the group, there has to be one or two sets of brothers (Probably two corner backs), they'rll be a few non-players just to stir the pot and start a few fights, a legendry campaigner who has spent the last few weeks organising the trip (you rocko)... and there'll be a few at home on the phone relaying the stories.

No doubt when the secretary is away some fool will organise championship for that week and ye'll have to rush home!

    jobbie

on a side note I know nothing about turkey....

    Rocko,
    Just a couple of questions.
    Number of people in group?
Any particular favourite Turkish sports soccer, cricket etc.
Genre of holiday good time;) & drink, site seeing, pilgrammage?
What type of area would you like to stay in e.g. 1-5 star hotel?

The Turkish Tourism Federation incorporated by the E.C (European Commision) will sort you out.

    Hi lads.

Theres a group of us going to one of these places soon enough. All the lads are into having a good time and a bit of action;) . Im going but I don't want to get involved in the action side of it any suggestions on what i should do while the lads are enjoying themselves with the locals??

We all know you are a footballer, why-so so why (haha), don't you go footballing with the non-drinker while dugs army show off their silky hurling skills on the beach. That is until a 'danger'ous corner back probably hits the ball into the water with his errand shooting!!

That 'action' don't worry about it your only messing why-so you can choose not to go down that line if you wish!

I had a look into Kusadasi on the net, there seems to be nice clothes shops and boutiques for you. Your thaaang sister!!!

    enjoy

Gumbet is a hole, get out of there as much as possible. Bodrum's not that much better. There are day trips on dolmuses to smaller towns in the area and most of them are much nicer.

We're thinking of organising a bit off ;););) action for the guy who is organising it for us, a bit off humping!!!Any suggestions on where to go??

Kusadasi - Ephesus, Pamukkale, Turkish baths.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 61 ✭✭bloodninja

Yes the Turkish baths will suit a holiday go getter to the ground.

They are preferable towards the individual who likes to sleep in, or spread slurry with his favourite neighbour while having a take away coffee!

Whats the food like in these places. Any good museums??

    Hi,

has anybody been to Gumbet recently? If so what can you recommend or not? I'm going next month and staying in the Magnific Hotel.

    Any advice appreciated

Stayed in the Magnific a few years ago, great location right on the beach.
Nice Pool side bar and plenty of cheap watersports at the beach.

Go on a few trips as they are great value, well worth doing the boat trip.
