On the SKY Sports site, it's not listed for live coverage but the club are having a draw before TV coverage of the match.

So unless someone in Castle Avenue has their own satellite ;) anyone know of where to get SKY Sports TV listings for 26 May ?

I guess I could just wait another couple of days and get it from www.radiotimes.com but I'm impatient to know.

Excuse me for bumping my own post but, according to Newstalk, currently no UK or Irish broadcasters have secured rights to this footage.

    I've mailed info@irishrugby.ie for details.

I've checked the schedules for 26/27 May and neither Setanta nor SKY have it listed. I recall SKY having coverage of Wales in Argentina 12 months ago.

Yeah I would definitely be interested in watching the games as long as they are not at all hours of the night. Even then I would want to watch delayed coverage.

oh well, looks like it'll have to be downloaded

I think there is only a 4 hour time difference between Ireland and Argentina, so that should not be an issue for a broadcaster/viewer...

When is the next live rugby match on RTE? Six Nations next February?

    TV blackout of Argentina tour

It is increasingly unlikely that Ireland's two Test tour of Argentina will be broadcast live on any television station. RTÉ Sport have received no confirmation from the Argentinian rugby union (UAR) regarding their bid despite the deadline passing last Monday

the argies will be able to sell the advertising with an enhanced market due to the irish viewers as well.

We are talking 10s of thousands which is buggere all to us...........

but better than a slap in the face, esp to a develoing union.

The only bad thing about this is that Ryle Nugent will be on commentary.

It wouldnt be a rugby match without Ryle

True, it would be a bloody good rugby match without Ryle:D

He truely is an irritating plank - the Pat Kenny of rugby commentary if you will even Goerge Hamilton would be preferable to him.

I may just have to watch the matches with the sound off.

    TV blackout of Argentina tour

"This is unprecedented territory," said head of RTÉ television sport Ryle Nugent.

If Ryle is head of RTE television sport as the article above leads us to believe, then I think we may be hearing a little bit more from him as a rugby commentator. If he lasts as long as Fred Cogley, then it could be another 40 years or so....

Anyone know if any other stations are picking it up.
In the UK, and hoping to find a broadband channel or something. Don;t think the pubs there will show it or bother getting RTE in for the day.

That's one thing that bugs me when people post teams, when was the last time the majority of those players played for their clubs? Why post their clubs?

    Tommy Bo-oh? Pfft.

Glad to see the centreship partnet, maybe eddie will stop playing shaggy in the middle out of position when one of the two lads gets injured.

Are the HC final boys playing the next test then?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,987 ✭✭✭✭zAbbo

Give Bowe a chance, he's bulked a good bit over the last year, and has been the most capable back for Ulster this season, and he's from Monaghan ;)

Is Lewis a Inside Centre, it's make or break this season for him.

Looking forward to it, and the HC boys are back for the 2nd test.

Yeah intereesting, I never want to see Horgo go thro the humiliation of looking like a muppet on the big scene thro no fault of his own. He is about as adept to WC centre as Stringer....

    i agree thanks for info

Been on various websites nothing seems to be avaialble for some bizarre reason RTE are only broadcasting on the web in Ireland - which kind of seems daft given that you'd figure most people who have PCs have TVs as well and that those of us not in the homeland are the ones most likely to want Broadban access.

Also sent emails to IRFU and RTE to ask the question and both email deliveries failed as one was afraid of bulk mail and the other didn't seem to exist!!! Then phoned IRFU to be greeted by some eejit who just repeated all he knew was that the match was on RTE and then made absolutely no effort to see if he could help........... AAARGH!!!!!! I even tried logging to ARU site but since my Spanish is sh&te I didn't get very far.

All right then its not bizarre....silly me for thinking that about 3 people would be watching on internet in Ireland when there are likely to be many 1000s who'd want to watch it elsewhere.

Which brings me back to my original question. IF RTE don't own the rights who does? Does anyone? If not, are RTE just beng cheap and not spending a couple of 1000 Euros??
