Anyone find wow laggy lately at around 7pm? I know raiders and others are logging on but I'm usually 38ms to 180ms. Now i'm hitting 550 to 800ms for the last two weeks.

I'm with eircom and am on the Emerald Dream server. Just wondering has anyone else experienced this on eircom or is it the ED server.

I just logged on, latency up at 1250 !!!!!!!!

    A 56k modem would get about 250!!

Reboot, reconnect and all that, now it's around 550-650ms range!

Is there any place to log this with eircom? Or you gotta call the 15xx number?

on shadowsong ms peaks at 2309 now in around the 500's upto 690, most annoying, this has only been happening in the last 2 weeks, seems its back to the bad old days of intolerably high pings and it takes weeks for blizz to admit they ****ed up and to fix it just feckin great

Same here, this happened a few times before and was traced back to eircom and their connection to telnet or seomeone i recall.

All other games and servers are ok for me.

    How was it resolved?

Ringing Eircom and complaining? Cause they just keeping asking you to reset your router or say they'll send out an engineer who'll charge €60 if your line is fine.

Dont think thats the reason m8 because its mostly Irish people lagging, asked a couple of english friends just there. They said they are pinging about 38ms.

    While Im ping 300-650

Myself and 7 of my real life mates all get the same bullshit.

    Me too...

Usually calms down around 11 or so. (Or to be even more annoying, as raids end)

It was laggy last night 300-600 latency (dragonmaw) - fine after 10.30pm (down to 60-130 latency).

Run a tracert like Netman did above and you can see who to blame (eircom in his case).

Its eircom, or just irish broadband lines in general that past 2 weeks. From 5 til 11 its unreal. And theres no point in e-mailing them because you get a stupid email back saying check for viruses and spyware

They'd find it hard to argue with a tracert. Viruses and spyware can't cause your ping times change from one hop to the next.

I've been getting this as well, coupled with the fact that the server I'm on is shoite enough already (Hellfire) is nearly making me stop playing the game altogether.

I had the same lags for a while too - eircom on Xavius server.

I think it might partly have been eircom, but one of the days there was a screen where Blizzard apologised for lag problems and confirmed that they are working to resolve it, so I do think it was also a server problem.

And a note to all those "f**k Blizzard" guys - do you even have a remote idea how much work it takes to keep all the servers going and all the coding as bug free as possible? I'm sorry but it really annoys me when people in and out of the game are just complaining - if you don't like it go design your own game and see if you can run it better... it's actually not particularly easy.

We (should) all know that technology doesn't always do what we want, and I don't really think there's any points in blaming Blizzard for server crashes and lags. I'd rather blame all the farmbots etc that are filling the servers with characters that are not even enjoying the game the way it was meant to be. At least if everyone played fairly and actually PLAEYD when they were log in there would be some pressure taken off the servers. :D

I guess I deserve a warning now for going totally off topic ranting there but I can't help finding it extremely annoying when people complain about things they don't seem to know about. :P

Blizz have already posted on their site regarding this.
