This is driving me insane!! I always like to use Fender strings on my electric (strat), mainly super bullets, and for some reason nowhere in Dublin stocks em!!!!  I have looked everywhere and no, pretty much just bloody ernie ball, d'darrio, and Elixer. I usually end up getting my Fender strings abroad cause I didnt change my strings very often but this is just starting to frustrate me now that I like to have fresh strings on every few weeks... They do sell Fender strings in Music Maker from time to time but almost everytime I go there they say they havent got them in. Only once I went there when they had a few packs in stock...

I have been trying other strings but they just don't feel right to me and I can't play well with them at all...

Any idea why Fender strings are like feckin gold in Dublin!!?? Do you know anywhere that has a steady supply??

probably not stocked because they are crap (well, imo, they've always been more likely to break than other brands in my experience).

best bet is to buy in bulk of teh interwebs somewheres.

    Try : www.lordofthestrings.com

I used them a few times for bass strings and found them good ( a lot cheaper than here too - including postage ). I think they are based in the Netherlands.

www.stringsandbeyond.com have them. Very fast delivery and you get picks for free usually. Saw them reccomended in another thread and I have to reccomend them now, very good company.

Had the same problem myself. No place in Dublin had Bullets. I finally got them in Everest Music in Bray.
That was quite a while ago though. Nowadays I usually buy online from Lord of the Strings or stringsDirect.co.uk

D'addario strings seem to be a bit scarce around Dublin too. I had to get Ernie Ball's last time I restrung. Although, I'm happier with the Ernie Balls. :) so its not such a big deal.

Sound Gear always have Fenders in my experience. That said, just buy in bulk from eBay, save a fortune.

Goodwins on Capel street. Fender Bullets are great.

Right cheers guys I will check out those sites. Was hoping not to have to get em online all the time but it may be the only fool-proof option. No point in me going back and forth to different shops in Dublin like a fool and coming back empty handed everytime.

I will also check out Goodwins this week, as you suggested you suggested TelePaul. I just hope your not messing around!

Cant understand how people don't play elixirs all the time. Feckin great strings. Smooth, fast and long lasting. ;) Get them from the states on Ebay. I got 6 sets including postage for less than €50.

yeh but only the acoustic ones actually make the instrument sound better. on electric its just the fact they last so long which in all honesty doesnt work out much cheaper in the long run! thats jsut my opinion though!

I will be very very surprised if they don't have em.

Really your better off with another brand. Fender strings aren't great, seem fairly flimsy and don't have a great feel IMHO
Ernie Ball are what I reccomend.
Or failing that D'addario though they're a bit more expensive.

Elixir are indeed an excellent brand but seemed to cost an arm and a leg, how much are they over in Ireland?

String preference is an utterly subjective thing....I dunno how flimsy is a vlaid argument though as they all meet the same gauge requirements be they 9s, 10s, 11s etc. Over here elixirs are about 18 euro if memory serves.

they do last feckin' ages though.

i saw on musiciansfriend that some of those super-bullets strings are about $4 a pack! if they're what you're lookin for and you know anyone doing a j1 or buyin off 'em it would be worth buyin bulk!

    Hendrix89,

It's strange that you can't seem to find Fender strings in Dublin, man.

I seem to come across them all the time, in fact, when I do buy them they're usually full of rust, probably because the shops have tons in stock and they don't get shifted as fast...

Your best bet is to find a seller on ebay who charges actual, not intergalactic, shipping costs, and then get 5-6 packs in one go.

I know, hence I put IMHO. THey just don't have the chunky feel Ernie Ball's seem to have.
Strings are entirely up to the individual, I just put in my 2 cents.
