    Jackpot Cash 1/2

OK so I'm sittin in the big blind, havent seen my cards.
    UTG calls
    UTG+1 calls
    Next Position raises to 10
    Call
    Button Fold
    Call SB
Call Me (BB with a lovely pair of ducks)

    Flop 942 two Diamonds.

And sure as hell I flop a set, SB checks, I bet out 25, Fold, Fold and Re-Raise 125, Its folded around to me. I'm thinking overpair.... trying to push me off a potential draw or A9 K9 suited etc( thats what I thought he thought I had) So I deliberate and Push all in for 400, 275 more.

Now, would a flat call here be more profitable, I pushed because I wanted him to think I had a draw and he was ahead or that I was on a complete stone cold bluff. I figured he'd call...thats the only reason I pushed.

Maybe a cold call wud have been better and given him some rope? or maybe a min raise although that mite have looked suspicious?

Finally what do you think he had?

Lads take my game apart if ya want....need all the help I can get.;)

In a live game the push is fine and I'd expect to get looked up by TT or better

You're never going to have a total bluff betting into 3+ players

Push is fine I think, as a call and a lead on the flop is suspicious anyhow. It is less than a pot size raise. The next bet you make make will have to be all in, so if you check turn, and he checks behind, he is unlikely to call a river bet with less than 222, unless he hits a second pair or the likes.

wow!! - he was the origional raiser?? 92 sweet - i like him already - great fold - it must have been very obvious to him that you hit your set?

Yeah he said 44 straight away, he was a very good player. He said afterwards he raised with 92 and said to himself that if he hit any part of the flop he was shippin it. He was playing relatively tight so he thought he would get the respect....obv my trips were bein very disrespectful.

I don't see the point in playing 92 in a raised pot and then folding on a 924 flop...

I see every point if he thinks he's behind.

But I would def just call the flop and check-raise all in on turn

Relatively tight doesn't raise a 9 2. If he had a mind fart and did, he couldn't have wished for a much better flop.

    Liar, liar, pants on fire!!!

I'm only learing so can someone explain these things to me....

"Yeah he said 44 straight away" - what does this mean ?????

"He said afterwards he raised with 92" - why would someone do this ? Bluff?

And if they were bluffing and hit 2 pair on the flop why fold ?

And could the 92 player not have interpreted the all in of the OP as a sign that they had a decent pair, QQ,KK ???
....said to himself that if he hit any part of the flop he was shippin it
    What does this mean ?

    As I said I'm learning...!

It means he thinks the other player has 44 in his hand
    Disguise his hand/bluff
And if they were bluffing and hit 2 pair on the flop why fold ?
Because he thinks the other guy has a set

He could possibly have, depends on how he reads the situation.
    What does this mean ?

It means if he gets anything on the flop, to go all in.

Because he thinks the other guy has a set

    Thanks Tar.Aldarion !

I see now. If the OP had a decent pair he would've raised preflop rather than flat calling ? The fact that he pushed all in post flop gave a good indication that he had a set. I'm learning !

    If I had the 92 I would've lost me shirt !!

Yeah Cardshark I agree, I think I played it particularly badly.

One of my leaks is not gettin paid off with my big hands... Im trying to fix this tho and take some time to think about how to extract as much as possible.

My only real reasons for shippin it were

    (a) The board was two flushed and I didn wanna take the chance of him havin AKsuited,

    (b) I thought he mite of had an overpair and would call ( i didn give him enough credit for the player he was)

    (c) I thought he mite have put me on two big cards, I had been playin relatively tight and was gettin noticeably frustrated, I was hopin he would think I was continuation re-raising ( lol!!! ) with my ak aq or strong drawing hand!

Another thing, I gave him an awful read, I'll know to shut my mouth next time, he said he had a hand that could outdraw me..... So I stupidly said, " 35 diamonds" therefore effectively telling him I had a set.

Ah well... You live and learn
