    Hi

Is there a way of swapping between previous channels on Sky? Its the yellow button on NTL, but there dosen't seem to be a button on the sky remote... very annoying!

Yep, but its only used for EPG navigation.

deco, I don't think Sky has a facility for what you want. The only thing I can think of that comes close is the Favourites (blue) button, but that will just scroll through the list of favourites from the beginning.

What I usually do is just memorise what number I was on...

It is one feature that would be extremely handy on Sky Digital.

True, along with a revemped menu and epg.
Such as being able to access the information on a program from the search and scan banner instead of having to bring up the main tv guide, which can be a pain especially on older slower boxes.
..And whilst on the subject, on HD and Sky+ boxes, i'd like to see a feature in the menu where you could dedicate your Sky + playback to a specific output, thus allowing you to watch your recorded programs whilst not interfering with current viewing.

There is only one MPEG decoder (expensive part) and one Digital to Analog converter. So only one picture can be watched. You need multiple Satellite receivers. They start from about 70 Euro for FTA like BBC etc.

Transmitting all the info on every transponder for all channels would be expensive and wastefull. Limited info is on all transponders for any channel and then the full guide uses one of two particular transponders.

So really apart from cosmetic changes and the aformention channel history, what you suggest is inherently not possible.

Of course if there was more RAM it could cache more EPG info.

I agree, I couldn't believe that the HD boxes haven't had an updated version of the controller. What about a "browse" button on the remote, so when you press it you can then input a channel number and it will jump to it on the info banner, instead of having to press the + button for 10 minutes to scroll to your channel!

Don't developers talk to end users anymore!!!

I'd presume they didn't want to over complicate the remote control. As the system stands, it is quite easy to use and intuitive.

It's just perhaps too simplified for some more tech-savvy people :)
