Far from being a massive problem, but its quite annoying nonetheless. Every single folder on my hard drive (and folders on shared drives in my house. it works fine from other computers) is displayed in descending order, and it can be frustrating when navigating, having to click on 'name' to switch to ascending order every time I go to a new folder.

I had a quick look around technet, and all I'm told is how to change it while currently in a folder (by clicking 'name' - duhhh). Any ideas how I can change it so that every folder I look in is set to ascending (not descending) order?

Open My Computer and arrange it by Name
Then go to Tools - Folder Options - View and click Apply to All Folders.
This should arrange all your folders by Name

I was expecting to have to edit the registry

    Works now. Thanks!
