Fairly sure we stayed here - very close to the Charles Bridge and close enough to the main square in the old town. Nothing special, but nice, clean and not too pricey.

Prague's a great city - a lonely planet guide book should sort you out. The one thing I found though was that the food wasn't great - the restaurant menus look great, but they are absolutely identical in many places, save for the logo and the name of the place - I reckon there's a lot of frozen pre-made stuff being served.

always ask if all service charges/taxes are included in the bill in a restaurant. One lad tried to charge us more than was on the menu and wouldn't show us the price list again when we asked. Another added 15% onto the bill and told us AFTER eating that a 15% 'tax' hadn't been included on the menu.

I thought the food was excellent. Choose your palce to eat perhaps? If you go to the castles side of Charles bridge and take one of the streets to the right after it there is a place that serves 50 different types of steak.

There were excellent restaurants if you choose right but avoid the food in Irish pubs....quite bad!

The tax was an issue but overall it was very cheap!

Keep clear of the Romanian gypsys, they will swarm around u offering their services and before you know it your phone or wallet will be gone.

Check out the music seen and choose your taxis carefully. Alot are mafia run and therefore charge exuberantly! I think triple star was a good taxi company.

If your hte biggest cheap skate in existance eat and drink near the Shimov (cant remember exactly) metro stop

Avoid museum of medieval torture...i nearly got sick out of the top floor window but the museum of sex toys quickly cheered me up.

Bit of a sleaze central and if you dont want to be approached by pimps all the time go with your girlfriend:cool:

Check out a pub called the Marquis de Sade. It's just off the old square, on the north side I think.
Great singer songwriter called Jamie Marshall plays on a Sunday night.
Lovely roomy pub, used to be a brothel apparently.
