I have a spare chorus box. From my college house, we damaged the remote so they wont take it back. Silver in colour, and i was wondering how hard it would be to connect this box up to a chorus aerial myself and would it work?

Id like to connect it in my parents house, they have a chorus subscription. Was hoping i could set it up like multi room.

Chorus will take it back regardless of weather the remote is broken or not, I know because I used to go around collecting them from canceled accounts.

If you did manage to get the rite equipment to install the digital box at your parents house, you will not receive any channels as the card will have been deactivated. Also you should note that this is illegal and not allowed to be discussed here.

Check the terms of your original contract and you will see that Chorus will actually charge you up to €300 for the decoder if not returned. I would suggest you return it to their local depot personally

I cancelled my NTL digital and had 2 boxs - they said if no one came to collect them within 3 weeks to throw them in the bin !!!

I dont know about NTL'S policy but I assure all readers of Chorus policy, they want all decoders back....I often went looking for decoders from expired accounts a year after the canceled date..

Just before I left the were talking about giving customers a freepost address to try and get them to do the work for them...would never work in my opinion

Connecting up a Cable/MMDS box not part of a subscription is a criminal offence, not just a question of T&C.

Cable & MMDS gear belongs to the cable company.

Under WEEE regulations it also may not be dumped. Since it belongs to UPC/Chorus/NTL, return it to them for recycling.
