Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My brothers girlfriends grandad was apparently in the IRA and kept these handcuffs. They have the manufactor "Hiatts" stamped on them, aswell as "IRA".

This is a picture i found of the same set online, ours are a rusted colour but still work and we still have the key. I'll post up some pictures later, if anyones interested. Hiatt Darby 103 Irish Eight is the name of them from what ive found googling. Made in 1900.

    I think they're fantastic! :)

Sounds like an excellent little piece of history! Looking forward to seeing some pics! I take it the 'IRA' wasnt stamped at the same time as the "Hiatts", I doubth they were making "IRA" contract handcuffs :D

I have a picture at home taken last Summer in Clonakilty museum, part of there IRA/Michael Collins display had a pair of handcuffs in it that were taken from a burnt out RIC barracks if I remember correctly, must have a look and see if they are the same kind.
