    Hey all,
I am cycling to London, while camping along the way and have had a terrible time getting a relatively cheap accommodation,
I will be camping along the way from Hollyhead and I want to know if anyone out there has set up a tent in the City before?
I was thinking Hyde park or Hampstead Heath etc...
anybody got any experience of this type of thing before?
I have heard of Immigrants camping out before and they got deported, will i get a fine if I'm caught?

I lived in London for several years and I have never saw someone camp out in the parks..

The parks get closed and locked up at around 9am and they have ranger type doods who even try and get the homeless folks out of the parks.

Your best bet is find a mate of some kind and put your tent up in their front/back garden..

You could always book a hostel room? [http://www.hostelbookers.com/hostels/england/london/]

Polish builders in London are now using those 20p public toilets. Bring in a sleeping bag and kip there for the night. Apparently the biggest demand is for the disabled toilets (more space you see)!

but the public toilets in the parks are full of very dodgy men looking for sex and/or smell like public jacks on the last day of a music festival ie: rather bad indeed

If you last a night sleeping in one of them intact, you deserve some kind of award or medal :)

pay 20 or 30 quid and get a hostel bed and dont be a complete cheapskate :)

I would seriously suggest against this, you just don't know who you'll meet in a park in the middle of the night.

Are there not any official camping palces around London?

I don't know of any camping spots, but you could try asking on here.
