Great website, they have gigs from pretty much every band that plays the Melkveg. All high quality stuff and whole gigs, and for free. You don't even have to register :D unfortunately the rights for some of them have expired, like DFA1979, which I was so disappointed about as they've broken up now and I doubt I'll find any live gigs of theirs elsewhere :(

    Enjoy!

edit: Its from the Paradiso too.

You'll have to look yourself and see if they come in English though. If not work through the Dutch or I think theres a place you can go in and ask, its called the AUB and its on Leidseplein (their version of Temple Bar main square pretty much).

By the by if you haven't been to Amsterdam before I'd recommend the Flying Pig hostels, haven't been to the Uptown one (which is on Leidseplein) but the Downtown one off Damrak is great, it's pretty much right beside the central train station.

yeah i have been over before, very cool place. thanks for your help, i might check out those hostels this time around.
did you ever go to the last watering hole(think thats what its called) great music the two nites i went there, a band performed then different "punters" at the bar got up and performed, very cool

Nope, didn't hear about it. The only place I went to with live music was the Jazz Club Alto just off Leidseplein. I'll check that place if I go back.

Its its possible to download some off these lives gigs from fabchannel

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 620 ✭✭✭yevveh

No, they have to have rights for these gigs and as soon as the rights go the gigs go so they can't let people download them. Best bet would be to get some software where you could actually record it playing on the screen if that's possible, and record the gig as its played, record the audio either at the same time or afterwards and sync them. It's not my area of expertise, maybe some of the tech heads in the other forums could help ya..
