I think it is a slot machine place and not a card club. In any case it is not open yet.

Theres a place at the back of "breaks" snooker club that does tourneys. It also does blackjack, roulette etc, so not sure if thats what baker is talking about. Never played any poker there of any sort. Usually full of orientals feeding 50€ notes into the automated roulette machines.

Actually, thats in the D9 part of drumcondra, so i doubt it is the same place.

Gus Ivey knows breaks well. Its where he started his poker career!

Thinking about opening a club on Mountjoy Square some time next year, do the clubs in Drumcondra do well, get numbers etc?

If they continued to look after their punters they would have. Breaks used to get 90 on a friday night but dropped to an average of 50 for a €50 buyin. Worst standard ever.

No cards now any night of the week because all that happens now is orientals playin roulette and a few poker machine junkies

So where exactly is this D1 place?

I presume it's on the town-side of the Tolka, judging by the name?

I remeber when driving to louth I passed a "Card Blub" in dumcondra. Past quinns i think?
It looked like a small little scruffy place and I imagine it suited the degenrate slot machine type. but i was never inside, so maybe noit

I imagine a club around there would defo get the numbers, theres a few pub games in the area, and I know of one pub with 2 permanant tables upstairs with the pool table. If a well run place opened up i imagine it would do well, lots of student degenerates in the area, €20 freesout out on a wednesday ;)
