    Hope this wasn't covered before.

I have a Northern Rock deposit account which is paying 4.25% but am in the process of opening a Rabodirect deposit account which is offering 5%. I was told that this is only an introductory rate but cant see any info re this on their website.

Anyone know if the 5% rate is an introductory rate?

They've been paying that for a few months. Whoever told you it's introductory probably got it confused with the fact that it's 5% on the first €10 grand.
It's 5% on the first €10,000 then 3.75% on everything over that.

That rate is only guaranteed until the end of 2007, if that answers your question

This is from the rabo website

    "Latest Offering
We currently offer a rate of 5.0%* on savings from €1 up to €10,000. Balances from €10,000 up to €1 million will get a variable rate of 3.75%** on their savings. Effective from 12/03/2007 to 31/12/2007. Standard variable rates will apply thereafter."
