It's because Miyamoto is an absolute nutcase. Just check out this quote from a recent interview:

    http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=76086
Asked whether there are any real-world issues he'd consider making the basis of a game, Miyamoto identifies, er, children who don't give up their seats to the elderly on trains and people who don't pay taxes. "I look at places in the world where people understand that paying taxes to the government helps society. In Japan there's not that understanding." (The transcript doesn't say whether he was pounding his fists as he spoke.)

A big WTF? from me. Still I can't doubt the man. Who would have though that a game that involved running around Miyamoto's garden with an army of little plant men picking up rubbish would have been one of the defining moments of last generation. I'd say a game about beating but insolent children and the non-tax paying bums of society could be the most satisfying game ever especially with Wii controls.

Oh God... my mind is screaming "He's going to make a Postal game".

Link becomes an IRS agent? Mario as a bus conductor? Bowser as one of those Guardian Angel's?

First he spends GDC talking about his wife and now this? Things could get weird over at Nintendo in the next few years.

I can see the game trailer next year alright,
Cue action movie voice over man......

    "Last time you saw Mario
    He Got The Girl....
    He Got The Kingdom....
    This Year...
    HE'LL GET EVEN!!!!!!!!!"

Picture Mario in a John Mclane vest, only red and packing a semi automatic Mushroom gun, lots of explosions, Bowser taking over the Miyamoto building in downtown Tokyo.

Oh dear, Nurse!, time for my medication, Nurse!??

He could do a more mature game yet. He was adviser on Metroid Prime and Geist so maybe he has a taste for it.

All Miyamoto's interviews are crazy. He hardly ever talks about his games and usually goes on about gardening and how his band that he plays banjo with are getting on.

ha ha, Miyamoto is willy wonka, his brain functions on a level too high for us mere mortals to understand.
I like to imagine his office would be like the wonka factory too ...

Imagine a young fledgling reporter gaining access to Miyamoto just before the unveiling of the next nintendo console, the interview of his life, only to be fed some story about how he hates the way peas are round and always roll off his plate, why can't they make them square!!!!
